A Unique Approach to Spine Care
As a physical therapist and neurosurgeon, Dr. MacKay has a unique perspective on spine conditions. He enjoys assessing and educating patients about their spine and coordinating non-operative management when that is what is best for that individual person.
When surgery is indicated, he has expertise in image-guided and minimally invasive surgical techniques and uses these techniques in the management of surgical spine conditions. However, nothing makes him happier than seeing a patient return to spinal health without the need for surgery or other invasive treatments.
Dr. MacKay also offers Spine Care Coordination with your chiropractic physician, physical therapist, pain clinic, and interventional pain providers and case managers.
Our Neurosurgical Spine Specialist
Dr. MacKay BSc (Physical Therapy), MD, FACS, FAANS, FRCS(C) developed Spine & Brain Group to offer a unique service to patients in need of assessment, diagnoses, and treatment for conditions related to the body’s nervous system, with and emphasis on the spine including the neck, back, spinal chord, nerve roots, and peripheral nerves.
